Freezing
Freezing
As one of the common use cases in the industrial field, refrigeration is often combined with multiple processes. Excellent refrigeration-related components can provide confidence in maintaining working actions in extremely low temperature environments.
Reliability and durability are critical in industrial environments. Industrial frozen products need to undergo strict quality control and testing to ensure that they can operate under harsh conditions for a long time without being affected.
Whether facing a high-load production line or extreme temperature changes, it can run stably to ensure production efficiency and quality.
A. Limitations of solenoid valves for refrigeration:
In many refrigeration systems that require solenoid valves, pipe damage often occurs, especially in systems with relatively long pipelines. These damages typically occur at the bend between the solenoid valve and the expansion valve, often during the system's startup.
To understand this issue, let's start with the principle, as shown in diagram (a). The main purpose of the pump-down process is to collect refrigerant on the high-pressure side during shutdown, preventing liquid refrigerant accumulation in the evaporator when the system equalizes pressure. When the compressor suddenly starts, the influx of liquid refrigerant causes hydraulic compression, leading to damage.
During the pump-down process, the solenoid valve closes, and the compressor continues to run, collecting refrigerant from the low-pressure side to the high-pressure side. The system shuts down only after refrigerant collection is completed.
At this point, the solenoid valve and compressor act as obstacles, keeping the refrigerant on the high-pressure side, creating a vacuum state in the liquid line. When the system starts running, and the solenoid valve opens, liquid refrigerant rushes into the previously vacuumed liquid line. However, the expansion valve has a limited opening, resulting in a sudden blockage, generating significant impact force.
Therefore, after the solenoid valve opens, the liquid line bears substantial force, especially at the bends. These impact vibrations can cause damage to the weakest point of the pipe, such as welded bends, leading to refrigerant leaks.
The solution is to shorten the distance between the expansion valve and the solenoid valve. The optimal distance between the expansion valve and the solenoid valve should be within approximately 20 centimeters. This will reduce the acceleration path of the liquid refrigerant and subsequently lessen the impact force.
